There’s something beautiful about what’s left behind. When You Get to the End of the Rainbow began not as a planned painting, but as my art blotter, the working surface where I wipe my brushes as I move from one canvas to the next. It’s where colors collide without hesitation. Where pink meets teal, yellow cuts through blue, and every gesture is instinctive and unfiltered. It’s pure process. Over time, the blotter becomes a diary of moments, fragments of other paintings layered together in spontaneous harmony. For this piece, I took that living surface and began to shape it. I added. I subtracted. I responded to what was already there. I leaned into the magic of the unexpected and allowed the composition to reveal itself. The result is a celebration of movement, joy, and discovery, a reminder that sometimes the treasure isn’t at the end of the rainbow… it’s in the beautiful mess that gets you there.
