Designer Position
Overview:
This position will report to the Head Designer and work to help support our growing apparel and home collection. If you love to always be busy and work in a fun but face paced environment, this job is for you. Most important is that you are passionate about design and especially KR design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in building the line from conceptual research, sketches to final samples
- Assists in contributing to color palette and materials development for each collection
- Participate in seasonal research for emerging trends and competitor analysis
- Create flats in Adobe Illustrator
- Create tech packs and BOMs following Product to Market Calendar to ensure that samples are produced and delivered on a timely basis
- Manage all line sheets and updates through product life cycle
- Prep files to pass off to vendors
- Participate in fittings
- Partner with technical design team in all aspect of development and fit to ensure all updates are properly related to vendors in a timely manner
- Source materials, trim components, hardware, etc
- Daily email communication with overseas partners and vendors, with strong follow up skills regarding the status of the product development
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle tight deadlines, and prioritize workload as needed.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work well with others
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of Design experience
- Computer knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of design process
- Knowledge of sweaters and woven construction a plus
- Good design, trend and color sense
- Knowledge of washing and garment dye techniques and able to communicate details accurately in tech packs
- Ability to think three-dimensionally and visualize from swatch to body
